The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has accompanied the Bishop of the Diocese Juan Antonio Reig Pla in the blessing and inauguration of the Bethlehem Municipal later installed in the Bishop's Palace, as is traditional.
Following the ribbon-cutting protocol, and the Blessing of Bethlehem by the bishop, there have been two brief interventions.
The event was also a performance by the Choral Discantus.
The Bethlehem, created by the Peña La Pava, as in recent years, played this time Monteagudo Castle and the monument to the Heart of Jesus, and recreates several genre scenes typical of Murcia.
In a brief speech, thanked Mayor Peña La Pava the work in the development of Bethlehem and the Bishop who, once again, has given the City the courtyard of the Palacio Episcopal by thousands of people who will spend this Christmas .
Chamber has also noted that "the inauguration and blessing of the Bethlehem Municipal is the announcement that Christmas has arrived" and wished that these days "are times of hope, happiness, sharing and solidarity.
Despite the difficulties that will bring 2009, we must be confident that we will overcome them. "
