The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, this morning two novel collaboration agreements that allow the construction of two schools in two of the most deprived areas of South America.
The Department of Prevention and Fire Fighting, Civil Defence and Development Cooperation, who heads Remigio Lopez, will take place this initiative within the Department of Cooperation, and to undertake collaborative projects in developing countries, directly from City Hall.
This is the first time that the city of Murcia performs these actions, but because of the experience, more than 20 years, and successful cooperation actions are going to start working on two projects in Bolivia and Ecuador .
The Governing Board gave the green light to two separate collaboration agreements.
On the one hand, it will act in Ecuador through the construction of classrooms for two schools in the province of El Oro, Canton of Santa Rosa.
This project targets especially the high incidence of Ecuadorians in the city of Murcia which is native to this province, is estimated at about 6,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries.
On the other hand, has been one of the areas affected by the floods in early 2008.
The other project will be construction in El Alto in Bolivia's future home-school workshop and training center with a vocational college.
The City of Murcia has a wide experience in running training workshops and has provided advice, taking care to keep track of it.
The project will target two segments of the population, one is for all those young graduates in basic education and who have no knowledge or experience, and the other sector of the population will be aimed at adults, especially women who want to work lack of professional knowledge can not.
El Alto in Bolivia is one of the most underdeveloped countries, in fact ranked number 117 on the development index that annually produces the UN.
With the school-workshop aims to build the facility, while that will help the rental of rooms in which we can develop meetings, conventions and other events.
