Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca today held a day 'In Memoriam' by Dr. Juan Antonio Jiménez-Cervantes, who was chief of otolaryngology service center, where six years after his death.
Dr. Maximo Poza, president of the Real Academia de Medicina de Murcia and head of the department of neurosurgery of the Arrixaca, gave a lecture on "Routes of approaches to the skull base: past, present and future."
Surgery of skull base surgical techniques and innovative uses internationally recognized, is used to tumors that are located in areas of the brain or skull that standard surgical methods can not reach.
The medical team that performs these interventions includes oncologists, neurologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons and otolaryngologists.
