The expert of Science of Physical Activity and Sport (CAFD) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Alberto Lorenzo, has spoken this afternoon at the UCAM, the conference `Detection of sports talents."
This event is organized by the BA in the UCAM CAFD, under the ConCienciaT Lecture II, which promotes the Research of the Catholic University.
Alberto Lorenzo said that "an athlete needs more than talent to achieve outstanding results."
Alberto Lorenzo has analyzed in his speech the concepts of talent and skilled athlete in the field of elite sport.
The expert in sports talent identification at the Polytechnic of Madrid, has also stressed "that good results are always following the development of athlete, from hard work, thorough and rigorous."
Lorenzo also has pondered the role of genetics in the development of sporting talent.
"In the context of elite sports, genetics matter, but not decisive," he said.
The teacher has added "that the effects of the talent is usually evident at early ages, although there is prior evidence that can help detect it."
