The Councillors on the Environment and Urban Quality, Adela Martinez-Cache, and Youth and Employment, María Dolores Sánchez, participated this morning in the planting of 500 trees in the industrial West.
The deputies have been accompanied by volunteer members of the youth association Nebrija.
The species selected for planting are Aleppo pine, pine, wild olive and carob trees, donated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
During the last week and now they have planted a total of 2,000 trees in the West Industrial Park with the cooperation of local primary school.
This initiative is part of the campaign "Plant for Murcia.

Thus, the City Council pledged to plant 12,000 trees by 2009.
