Since October is working with 170 school children, but in January 2009 there will be an expansion of schools and pupils.
The need to ensure comprehensive development of children aged 6 to 16 years old Diocesan Caritas has been to launch a project to promote such integration in society, while they are provided with academic support and recreation for that is most gratifying that integration.
Since it is a priority, from the Department of Education and crew, who heads Megía Pilar, has wanted to work in close collaboration with Diocesan Caritas in the development of that project PROINFANCIA.
Therefore, the City Council made available to Caritas Diocesan four schools of the municipality to carry out this project, outside school hours.
The schools you will be working along this course are: Our Lady of La Paz (Murcia), San Juan (Murcia), Santiago El Mayor and Our Lady of El Carmen (Murcia).
The hours are Monday through Thursday, from 16 to 20 hours.
The project has been underway since October and will extend throughout the school year 2008-2009.
At the moment we are working in two centers with a total of 170 schoolchildren aged 6 to 16 years of age.
According to forecasts, the next January, the project was extended to two centers and a greater number of students.
With regard to education in values, is working on four priority areas: self-esteem, tolerance, responsibility and cooperation.
Axles with that is to guide the students to forge their own values, classify and order, plus we want that they are aware of why they act in one way or another in certain situations.
Besides addressing values education a priority target, "the reinforcement of schools and leisure is another line of action that is particular emphasis.
The goals to be achieved include:
Develop initiatives and activities that promote the full integration of children in their social and educational.
Developing community and school activities to promote the attendance of children at school and reduce truancy.
Detect situations that may be interfering disadvantaged in the process of integration both within and outside the school.
Encourage family involvement in education of their children and improve family approach to school.
Contribute to the prevention and improvement of health and hygiene conditions.
Encourage personal development by developing various activities and play.
Enhance conflict resolution strategies for improving relationships and social skills acquisition and assimilation of norms.
Enable the proper use of leisure and free time, through the promotion of coexistence and integration space in the middle.
