The University of Murcia will receive 96,000 euros in aid to investigate the application of state taxes to the municipalities of Murcia and in particular on the Value Added Tax (VAT), income and corporation tax, as agreed today by the Governing Council.
The aim of the investigation, which is part of the Knowledge Cluster 'Heritage, Culture and Society of Science and Technology Plan of the Region of Murcia 2007-2010, is the search for ways to improve regional and local funding of respect to the proposal of a new model of regional and municipal funding.
This project, funded through the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, will serve to improve public services and to perform an efficient allocation of resources from state taxes, which ultimately will benefit the regional economy and citizens.
