Teachers, students and administrative staff and services at the University of Murcia concentrations were silent today on the doors of schools in protest and condemned the terrorist attack yesterday by the University of Navarra.
Murcia University seconded and the resolution adopted by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), which had requested the condemnation of violence and reaffirmation of commitment to democracy and freedoms.
One of these concentrations was silent on the door of the building of Convalescence, home of the Chancellor, and it took part in the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, and other members of the Governing Council, which interrupted the session held in the moments.
Cobacho and moved yesterday to Chancellor of the University of Navarra in solidarity with this educational institution and condemned the attack.
These same sentiments were seconded by the Council of Students of the University of Murcia in a press release stating that "we want our fellow Navarra feel the warmth and affection of the sister university."
And added that "if every terrorist act is in itself shameful, it shows the greatest villainy, speaking against the institution which houses among its highest values free thought and the pursuit of science, knowledge and culture in the service of society. "
