Councillor for Culture, Fátima Barnuevo, clarified this morning that the work is running at the Teatro Romea, which involves an investment of over six million euros, is the unfortunate result of rehabilitation that took place 20 years ago in facilities, forcing the City of Murcia to major works that follow a slower pace than originally estimated technical, which means no delay.
Barnuevo explained that the interior works are executed in parallel to the exterior, currently underway, and it is a comprehensive and complex that includes, in addition to the facade, the stage machinery, air conditioning, renovation of patio and boxes and other repairs.
Theater is scheduled to reopen in October to begin the 2009/2010 season.
As for the interior works councilor noted that have not been booted because currently hiring of this work is in the process for submission of tenders, whose term ends on October 27, so that the interior works not be visited and can only be external.
