The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, this morning presented the series 'Family Concert' for the 2008/2009 season, families and groups aimed at children of all ages.
Along with Martinez attended the press conference the manager of the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Navarro, and the head of external relations at El Corte Ingles, Arturo Andreu.
In the programming cycle for this season is the incorporation of ballet with the play 'The Bolt', 17 May, with music by Shostakovich, which tells the story of a factory where everything works fine until screw failure.
Another novelty is the inclusion of jazz music with the play "The creation of the world ', 15 February piece in which a young girl remembers her grandmother's teachings about the music of their time, while playing happily with their dolls.
Moreover, as was done last year, the program has two operas for children: 'The Emperor's New Clothes' and 'Pinocchio' to be held on November 9 and 25 January respectively.
Martinez stressed that the main idea of this concert series is "the formation of new audiences and encourage children to approach the music with playful quality proposals that allow both large and small enjoy the musical experience accessible, fun and training. "
In this issue, children who are paid receive a card that gives you access to 'Kidszone' web page of the Symphony Orchestra, www.sinfonicaregiondemurcia.com, where interactive games to learn the history and sounds instruments that form the orchestra.
The game has been done in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic.
Big turnout last year
The series 'Family Concert' was last year with an attendance of over 13,000 people and an average room occupancy of more than 1,500 people in each of the six concerts that made up the program.
Tickets for all six concerts are 36 euros and are available until 4 November.
The individual tickets cost 6 euros and as in previous editions of adults are free.
The concerts are held on Sundays at 12:00 pm in the Auditorium "Victor Villegas".

The opera company Opera Konsert Productions brings virtual Murcia a good show based on one of the most famous children's books in the world, the story of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.

The Jazz was born in the mouth of the Mississippi River in the Port of New Orleans and spread throughout the United States as the national entertainment throughout the twentieth century.

For the first time in the cycle of Family Concerts will witness a beautiful ballet by dancers from the Dance Conservatory of Murcia.
