AlterArte flooded the streets of the city with music and dance Colombian (06/10/2008)

With the parade 'primitive rituals to modern', the festival AlterArte begins a week of intense activity which are scheduled about half a hundred performances to be held from 6 to 12 October in the streets and squares Murcia.

The director of the Institute for Youth, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the festival director Hernán Rodríguez, attended the inauguration parade was conducted by Chiminigagua Cultural Foundation (Colombia).

This parade is a show that combines different primitive rituals and modern, from dance and music, which highlights the culture and folklore of Colombia.

During the tour of the city center, actors, perched on stilts, combine the risk, research circus theatrics and acrobatics, representing different animals, harlequins and minstrels to bequeath to the youth of today.

'Urban Tribes Youth' mixing live music and Colombian Cumbia, Merengue and Mappalian, sounds that accompany the show and are attuned to the movements of the actors almost impossible and colorful masks and costumes.

The parade begins with a ritual dance in the sun and the moon, followed by a display of stilts which makes movements are difficult to execute, the personification of animals, processing of Harlequins, to the major long jump only in Colombia and as a finale, an exhibition of stilts on skates, a technique discovered and patented by the Cultural Foundation Chiminigagua.

The show starts AlterArte programming, which this year has the participation of 111 artists and 46 performances to be held.

For a week, different areas of the city center will become an arena for diverse and avant-garde art forms where the public can enter into a direct contact with the works and performances.
