With the aim of raising awareness, dissemination and development of activities to respect and preserve the environment, the Department of Education and crew, who heads Megía Pilar, will financially support the centers of the municipality to carry out activities Environmental Education.

Schools of the municipality that will receive this year a contribution of the Municipality of Murcia for this purpose are: CEIP Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente, CEIP Our Lady of Bethlehem and CP Infanta Cristina, in which it will create an eco-garden , a nursery and a school garden green, respectively.

The selected schools will have the material resources needed to implement these areas in their centers, while monitors will have to guide the activity of farming products.

These actions must be added the talks and visits, around environmental education, will take place in different schools.

These three schools have been winners in various editions, Environmental Education Program "Green Schools" program that aims, through analysis and study of school develop habits that help them better understand those concepts related to environmental education we are talking about issues such as responsible consumption, waste, alternative energy, recycling, etc.

We must also mention the activities to be carried out by the Neighborhood Association for Sustainable Development of the Port of Garruchal (ADESGA) and the Association Columbares.

ADESGA, which in 2007 signed an agreement with the city of Murcia for the management of municipal forest areas on a model of land stewardship, has designed the workshops to build nest boxes in schools in the municipality of Murcia and their placement The municipal Villa in Porches.

Moreover, the Association Columbares through Owl Project aims to disseminate and edit various materials and different activities in schools, all for the dissemination of environmental values of the only SPA (Special Protection Area Birds) existing in our municipality, the SPA "Sierras de Altaona and Escalona.
