The Plenum of the City of Murcia has this morning approved unanimously a motion requiring the Ministry of Development to ensure the accessibility of the parishes affected by the highway Santomera-Zeneta, ensuring communication of El Raal, Stables and Zeneta.
The motion raises the need to urge the Ministry of Development to include in the planned route of the new highway at least one new link between populations and Zeneta Santomera, allowing communication with the regional road road MU-330, with road connecting to Highway F-2, also extending central node communication only with the road planned F-10 (Shore Azarbe).
The motion is the result of an agreement made between the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, members of municipal boards, residents and businessmen from the three affected districts.
The planned route of the motorway connecting the A-7 in the region Santomera del Mar Menor was approved by the Autonomous Region in December 2004.
This project included 12 km of track with two lanes from 2 lanes in each direction separated by central reserve and six links to other roads, two knots for the start (with the A-7) and final (future Reguerón Highway) and the remaining four links with existing regional road: exit at Industrial Estate Santomera to road N-340 and MU-303 connections Moteagudo "The Esparragal, the road F-10 Bacons Bridge access, and Finally, the MU-330 road, South Coast Road future.
These links are important road communication hubs in metropolitan structure of Murcia and intense relations with the region of the Mar Menor.
However, after the conclusion of the Cooperation Agreement with the State administration and enforcement thereof, the draft layout was submitted to the Ministry of Public Works, unilaterally, has applied the reduction of the initially provided links to a single central point of connection with the N-340 and MU-303, a fact which greatly impairs the affected districts.
The plenary takes more hits to avoid prejudicing the hamlets of El Raal, Stables and Zeneta.
