The three municipal groups in the city of Murcia (PP, PSOE and IU-LV) has unanimously agreed to demand the Government of Spain a simultaneous agreement connected with the autonomous communities and local authorities for urgent reform of local financing, parallel the regional financing and to lay the foundations of the Local Agreement.
Thus, local authorities may have before the end of the year with clear and precise rules to suit their real financial needs, we give greater regulatory capacity and solve the deficit driven by inappropriate service delivery.
Similarly, the three municipal groups have agreed to urge the National Government for the reform of the Basic Law on Local Government to address definitively the precise delimitation of powers of municipalities in order to avoid the current situation of improper assumption of jurisdiction.
PP, PSOE and IU-LV express their firm commitment to support the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) during the negotiation process being undertaken on behalf of defending the interests of all local authorities.
