The University of Murcia will be present at the III Latin American Mercosur Forum on Sport, Physical Education and Recreation, to be held in Quito (Ecuador) from 7 to 11 October.
This educational institution shall be represented by Professor Arturo Diaz Suarez, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science, has been invited by the sports minister of Ecuador, Raúl Carrión, to intervene in that forum.
This meeting will include the participation of institutions from over fifteen Latin American countries, which include Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela.
Spain will be represented by the University of Murcia, with support from the Consejo Superior de Deportes.
"The importance of being able to participate in this forum, where discussion on sports policies of different countries and marked joint actions, said Diaz, highlights the important role of the University of Murcia in Latin America."
The dean said that "sport, today constitutes a social phenomenon of the first magnitude that sponsored the development of the welfare society is reaching unimaginable levels of relevance."
