More than 312,000 euros for a comprehensive social assistance program to the Gypsy (17/09/2008)

Murcia City Council, through the Department of Health and Human Services, which runs Fulgencio Cervantes, involved in an ambitious project for social care integral to Roma, in the context of Gypsy Development Plan.

The objective of this program carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Autonomous Region and the Municipality is to improve the quality of life and provide welfare to Roma, promote the participation of collective life public and social propociar better relations between different social and cultural groups, strengthening of Roma associations and combat discrimination and racism.

A total of 312,000 euros earmarked, of the 78,000 will be contributed by the city of Murcia.

Thanks to the collaboration between the three administrations were carried out simultaneous activities of social intervention in the areas of social action, education, training, employment, health, housing and culture.
