On Saturday September 6, during the celebration of the XXVIII Cultural Week, the rock orchard Mortar gave a sincere and heartfelt tribute to the singer and guitarist Antonio Martínez Pellicer, who popularized in the '50s called the Bolero a Murcia Legendary Trio Las Vegas.

The president of Mortar, Jose Merche Sánchez, appointed him an honorary member of the Rock and gave him a plaque for his humanity and Murcia, and thanks to the musical legacy of the Trio Live in Las Vegas.

Juan Castaño López, Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs of the Ministry for Social Policy, Women and Immigration, served as the first harbinger of a Cultural Week in orchard rock mortar.

In his opening speech highlighted the work of members of the Rock, since he began his career in 1981, to keep alive the traditions of the Huerta of Murcia, and the importance of conveying to young people so that these customs are not lost over time.

He then proceeded to the imposition of the girl band and Miss Concepcion Jennifer Marín Hernández, and Mayor Reina and Reina Infantil 2008, respectively.

The new directive de la Peña presented the first issue of the Journal Mortar.

This journal was founded with the purpose of disseminating knowledge of folklore and the Region of Murcia, as well as to show the activities of the Rock.

Throughout the week will be going a wide variety of activities, which include the National Folk Festival next Saturday 13 with the participation of groups: Songs and Dances Zarandona San Felix, Songs and Dances Virgen del Rosario, Alhama de Murcia and Songs and Dances Our Lady of Sorrows, the rock orchard Mortar.

The events will end on Monday 15 with a Mass sung in honor of the patron saint of the parish, Our Lady of Sorrows.
