Three hundred teachers and researchers of Spanish and Latin American universities will participate in the IX International Congress of the Spanish Association of Economic History, to be held from 10 to 12 September at the Faculty of Economics, Campus de Espinardo.
Topics to be discussed will be discussed at 18 meetings, two of them, plenaries, and through posters, with special attention to the dynamics of the economy of Spain and Latin America.
Among the topics to be discussed include internationalization of Spanish firms, industrial districts, tourism development, economic inequality and the origins of redistributive policies.
A round table will present aspects of the economic history of Latin America, while another will deal with the economic history journals.
The Congress will open on Wednesday at 12.30 pm in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics, in a ceremony that will include the involvement of the rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, and the Minister of Economy, Inmaculada García.
The meeting is organized by the Spanish Association of Economic History and the Area of Economic History and Institutions at the University of Murcia.
