The ongoing collaboration between the city of Murcia and the Regional Government has shown once again today.
In particular, the ceremony was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, to improve the agricultural sector, which has brought together representatives UPA, COAG and ASAJA, Marcos Alarcón, Pedro Lencina and Alfonso Gálvez, respectively.
The agreement will allow construction of a new building to house the services provided by agricultural organizations in a plot donated by the City Council in Zarandona.
The building, funded by the Autonomous Community, will respond to the blueprint drafted by Francisco Ignacio Perez German, winner of the contest organized by the Chamber of Agriculture in conjunction with the College of Architects.
As a result, the Regional Administration will provide the City Council the purchase of five so far used by local farmers' organizations as part of their heritage.
The properties concerned are located in Beniaján, Llano de Brujas, Monteagudo, Guadalupe and Santiago and Zaraíche.
The memorandum of understanding signed this morning comes from the decision of the Autonomous Region, adopted by consensus of UPA, COAG and BDA, to proceed with the termination of the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, assuming the assets that we currently have and pledging to provide of adequate infrastructure to fulfill their duties as representatives of agricultural and livestock interests, centralizing the services currently provided.
