The Deputy Mayor of Environment and Urban Quality, Adela Martinez-Cache, has been elected member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate, for a period of four years.
The new executive was formed this morning in the heart of the Third Assembly of Cities of the Spanish Network of Cities for Climate, which takes place tomorrow in Donostia-San Sebastian.
Moreover, the municipality of Murcia has also signed this morning the Manifesto of Cities for Climate, which exposes the willingness to take environmental commitments to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and report on its implementation Spanish Network of Cities for Climate.
Note that in this manifesto sets out, inter alia, the accession of the Red to the known "Covenant of Mayors" a pact to Murcia and joined-together with Madrid last January in Brussels, with the pioneering cities in this initiative nationwide.
This commitment, signed by the Mayor of Murcia in Brussels with the main European capitals (London, Milan, Berlin and Bonn) last January, is the preamble to the signing of the Covenant of Mayors, the measures will be implemented ALEM-through the month of January 2009, also within the European Energy Week.
