Herguedas (UI) claims that the city gave 20,000 m2 of land in El Palmar for private purposes (17/07/2008)

IU + Councillor for the City of Los Verdes Murcia, Esther Herguedas, reported today at a press conference that between the months of April, May and June this year the council gave the capital some 20,000 square meters of public land hamlet of El Palmar for private purposes.

Herguedas, together with the Organization responsible for IU + Greens of El Palmar, Joaquin Lopez, said the council has provided land to build a private school, while three plots had been separated nearly 10,000 m2, predictably, the same use.

"These assignments are mortgaging the parish services, already lacking," the mayor said while stressing that these urban actions "only provide benefit to those with money and power, but not the people who live there."

He explained that the 2,100 homes planned to be built in the neighborhood of La Paloma, only 100 will be state (VPO), and no public promotion, which responds to the "mercantilist PP management at city hall."

He was against the construction of the MU-31 highway, which will invest 42 million euros, "because only save drivers 1.7 miles and yet will make a major assault acoustic and environmental landscape."

He recalled that this infrastructure will be launched by the Ministry of Development with the support of municipal PP, and wondered if the people of El Palmar really need this work which, according Herguedas, "aims to serve urban interests and New shopping center

UI + Councillor Greens complained that "have destroyed more than 60,000 meters of garden to the installation of Latbus depot," a "bleeding event" that forces the neighbors to also support "very high levels of night noise caused by buses cleaning vacuum cleaners. "

"Another example of how once again the city of Murcia turns a blind eye allowing absolutely illegal urban operations is the installation of the center of La Arrixaca, which violates the provisions of the General Plan because the land on which houses have character equipment or institutional structuring. "

For its part, Joaquín López agreed with the segregation of El Palmar, since "it is the only way to manage this community because it is unprotected from Murcia."
