About 40,000 direct users of the municipal social services have secured the services they receive on a daily basis the extension of primary care agreement Municipality of Murcia Autonomous Community, which accounts for more than 3.7 million euros.
The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Minister of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana, have signed the Protocol of 2008 Additional to the agreement signed in May 2007 allowing the development of actions in the field of social services in primary care.
Contributions to this agreement during 2008 will be 1.4 million euros by the Autonomous Community of 488,904 euros for the maintenance of the social centers of primary care.
In these three centers, the City Council directly serves more than 35,000 people.
For the development of home help service, the Autonomous Community provides 1.2 million euros and the City other 376,321 euros.
More than 2,700 users benefit from municipal home help.
Third, the contributions to the accompaniment program development for Social Inclusion amount to 135,962 euros from the Regional Administration and other 45,321 on account of the City of Murcia.
About 300 people are served directly through this service.
The agreement for the development of actions on primary care social services 2007-2008 was signed in May 2007, pursuant to-program agreement between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and the Government of the Autonomous Community of Murcia for the development of basic social services benefits.
