The Department of Health, which runs Fulgencio Cervantes, Murcia asks not to abandon their pets during the summer months, because at this time and because of the holidays, it increases the number of dogs entering the municipal center .
The month in which the center received more dogs last year was June (473 animals), followed by May (425) and July (389), while the monthly average of 2007 was of 340 dogs.
According to the Department of Health, 40% of homeowners who want to give your pets the drop in the street or garden rails, while only 15% are taken to the Municipal Center for Zoonosis.
In addition, the Department also reports that people who abandon their pets can be punished according to Law 10/1990 of 27 August, with fines ranging between 1502 and 3005, as it is considered a fault very serious.
Fulgencio Cervantes reminds citizens that there is a Municipal Zoonosis Centre which can go free to leave your pet.
The animal can be delivered directly into the center, located in Torremolinos Lane (The Albatalía) 968297578 or call for pickup.
In 2007, the Municipal Zoonosis Centre received 4,283 dogs and 1,148 cats.
