IU + Greens in the city of Murcia will present a motion in plenary tomorrow, requesting that citizens return of 3.1 million euros for the payment of charges for waste treatment for being "irrelevant" the plant Cañada Hermosa waste.
This was announced today at a press conference the mayor of IU + Greens in the municipality of Murcia, Herguedas Esther, who noted that in that plant "not only perform tasks of separation and treatment of urban solid waste, but even shuffled indiscriminately. "
In addition, the mayor requested the termination "immediately" of grass, the company responsible for waste treatment in Cañada Hermosa, and improving waste collection container facility with diversified "in all points."
He referred to complaints made in a television program on waste management at the plant, and noted in this connection that "is not the first time" produced complaints from environmental groups.
In this regard, said that "surprised to see how our local government has given and still gives no answer, looking away as if it did not go with them and letting someone continue profiting from the business of garbage."
He recalled that a year occur in Murcia over 157,000 tons of trash and, if applicable the required payment by the city councils of 20 per year for each one reaches the figure of 3,158,272 euros.
Finally, Murcia Herguedas asked to continue separating the different types of materials for recycling as it is a work of "civic consciousness" that "the environment is very important."
