The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has offered this afternoon a reception for members of the Choir Murciano Fernández Caballero, an institution that celebrates the 75 th anniversary of its founding.
The ceremony took place in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall.
During the meeting, the Mayor has been named honorary president of this institution for the dedication and work that has been playing for the music and culture in our city.
Miguel Angel House has stressed that "today we celebrate the first 75 years of the Choral Murcia Fernández Caballero.
We do so with almost absolute precision.
For this afternoon at exactly eight o'clock, on June 4, 1933, was signed the minutes of the General Board that lit the creation of this beloved institution. "
Regarding his appointment, the Mayor has made clear that "not only a source of joy and pride for me.
Moreover, it is a distinction that drives the responsibility to continue working because the Choir, our Choir, continues to be an international first class. "
The mayor added that "at that meeting, the developers noted the need that it was essential the enthusiasm and spirit of cooperation for the latest institution to achieve its purposes."

After the ceremony, the Mayor and members of the Choral Society have moved to the Plaza de Romea to lay a wreath at the monument to Manuel Fernández Caballero.
Throughout his brilliant career, the Choir has received many national and international awards, among them the Gold Medal of the region and the Silver Medal of the city of Murcia.
Both awards prove the enormous respect and affection that all have towards the institution Murcia, which soon became the prophet of music in their homeland in a land that has praised his compositions for decades, and through countless performances and many many recordings for labels, Radio Nacional of Spain and several televisions.
