Under the title "Murcia, Olympic Sport and School Sport Goal", Chamber conducted a brief description of the network of sports facilities, which currently consists of 48 football fields, 38 swimming pools, 32 halls, 52 sports courts and 174 tracks in schools, in addition to the municipal football stadium.
He also referred to the existing unique sports-including Inacua and Fleet-and those who are under implementation, Juan Carlos I, Cabezo de Torres, Beniaján, etc .-.
The construction of an Olympic site, in collaboration with the Spanish Olympic Committee, an investment of over $ 156 million, was another important aspect of the statement made by the Mayor, whose most important part devoted to school sport.

Construction Cuban sports schools
The mayor also used his stay in Cuba to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vice President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation-INDER-, Alberto Juantorena, whereby Murcia will contribute to the creation of sports facilities in Cuban schools especially in municipalities which by their nature and lack of population density areas for development of physical activity.
Murcia City Council makes a commitment to contribute financially to the creation of these areas and sports facilities in schools, depending on budgetary availability of financial resources.
This initiative is part of the projects that the City of Murcia built annually in economic forecasts for the development of cooperation projects in line with international commitments, which will now be added the school sport in Cuba.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed is based largely on the interest of the City of Murcia by promoting education policies geared to promoting sport as an educational tool on habits and healthy lifestyles, as well as formation of values.
