The people of Algezares has turned in a tribute to his illustrious son, Diego de Saavedra Fajardo, which this year marks the 360 anniversary of his death.
The tribute was held yesterday, Saturday 5 April, with the offering of a laurel wreath to the monument of the diplomat, who is in Algezares, by the rock 'La Espartero'.
In addition, statements were the Councillor of Culture, Fátima Barnuevo, and the village headman, Antonio Sanchez.
This was followed by a concert in the parish of Our Lady of Loreto in the hamlet by the group 'The Tempest'.
The parish church was full of audience who enjoyed pieces of contemporary performers and Saavedra Fajardo.
This concert was the first of the series' music in times of Saavedra Fajardo ", dedicated to the illustrious Murcia.
