The Department of Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia, directed by María Dolores Sánchez, is working on a project to adapt information services youth youth with sensory disabilities (mainly blind and deaf).
With this project, which aims to achieve support from the European Union, will discuss the obstacles that hinder the access of sensory disabled young people Youth information services by avoiding any form of discrimination.
This initiative is led by the European Project Service of the Department of Youth.
Next to the City of Murcia, this initiative will involve the Federation of the Deaf in the Region of Murcia (FESOMUR), 56 representatives of 8 youth organizations with sensory disabilities and Youth Services of the Municipalities, Setubal (Portugal), Torino ( Italy), Paris (France), Mexico City (Mexico), San Isidro (Argentina), Cali (Colombia) and Cuenca (Ecuador).
All these cities have Youth Information Centres prestige.
The project aims to promote measures to promote youth involvement in information and communication.
Moreover, once the work and applying the conclusions that are reached will be adapted Youth information services for young people with sensory disabilities, it will mean more to these young people in schools and youth information services and strengthen the relationship between Youth Services of local councils and associations of people with sensory disabilities.
Also develop a manual of methodology for implementation of Youth Information Services as a strategy for inclusion of youth with sensory disabilities.
Among the activities under this project include seminars for the exchange of good practices among local organizations and associations of people with sensory disabilities, an exchange of young people representing youth associations with sensory disabilities to discuss the issue of youth information and media communication, and evaluation of the work.
