Over more than four main centers of the town gathered today to celebrate the election of the Grandfather of the Year.
Grandparents of the Year have been elected from among 42 candidates.
The winners were Joseph Sanchez, Llano de Brujas, and José María Garay, San Miguel.
Grandparents of the Year are chosen by date of birth, so are the older of the candidates for Grandparents.
The food of coexistence has been held at the Inn The Bacons Bridge Tower and has been organized by the city of Murcia and the Federation of Senior Citizens.
The Councillor for Social Welfare Policy and Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin, stressed the important role of grandparents in today's society and the work being done by senior centers, places where the largest live and interact.
