The regional government has approved a grant direct to the public transport of passengers 'Line and Coach SA', amounting to 45,000 euros, which are intended to encourage mobility of university students between the campuses of the University of Murcia (UMU ) and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT).
The grant allows reducing the unit cost of the ticket to the amount paid by users in the regular line and increase the frequency of buses between the Universities of Murcia and Cartagena Polytechnic, allowing the flow of students during peak hours.
Thus, establishing a daily service that picks up students to transfer to Murcia UPCT and back first thing in the morning and does the reverse route in the afternoon, once the schedule of classes in the large most students.
This action, which will benefit about 1,500 students, can apply a discount of 3.60 euros per day each monthly pass purchased by students, representing a significant savings over the course and a further step in bet regional government to promote public transport by university, leading to an optimization of resources, equal opportunities, energy savings, travel safety, pollution reduction and savings in the family and students.
