The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has completed a year his custom to commemorate the World Book Day by participating in two reading marathons, namely those organized by the Museo Ramón Gaya and Nebrija College, located in Cabezo de Torres.
The first, as every year, will bring the street to the Plaza de Santa Catalina, the public and continued reading.
On this occasion you have read excerpts from the work of José Mariano González Vidal.
Since this initiative started in 2000, the authors involved have been Ramón Gaya, Miguel Espinosa, Pedro Cobos, German Francisco Sainz, Juan Garcia Abellan, Jose Ballester, José Sánchez Moreno and Antonio Oliver.
In the X Thon Nebrija, reference texts have been chosen works of European literature in accordance with the commemoration of 50 anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome.
Besides participating in the marathon, the Mayor also wanted to add a human chain of the Global Campaign for Education 2008 under the slogan "Put your piece!, All count."
Pilar Megía, Deputy Mayor of Education, Fátima Barnuevo, Head of Culture and Rafael Gomez, Council Member of Popular Culture, have also joined this initiative.
In the human chain students had participated in the school.
As it was, some friends have read a manifesto for education in the school developed Nebrija.
