Four young people in the municipality of Murcia have applied to participate in place of the 22 International Youth Exchanges, the City of Murcia offers young people between 14 and 25.
The Department of Youth and Employment, headed by María Dolores Sánchez, has offered 168 places for young people of the town to travel to a European country and participate in a project with young people from other nationalities to learn about other cultures, other cities and practicing languages.
Events take place between July and September and their theme music, communication, photography, environment, drama, debates about Europe and adventure.
The countries to which young people travel from Murcia are: Finland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Portugal, Russia, France and Turkey.
Youth groups will be accompanied by a monitor and will stay mainly in youth hostels.
These projects are undertaken in collaboration with City Hall and European Institutions and all involved groups of young people from other countries with similar ages and interests.
On this occasion the number of young people interested in participating in trade has been higher than in other years because of the awareness campaign conducted by the Youth Council by the institutes of the municipality.
The provisional lists of those selected will be published on May 21 at the Municipal Youth Service (Sports Palace) and the web www.informajoven.org.
