Murcia will have a new shopping center located in the south and west of town, in the vicinity of El Palmar.
This is a project developed by regional and national will create over 20,000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect jobs.
The Town Planning, Fernando Berberena, today met with the developers of the land to finalize the details of the new commercial space.
The new mall will be next to the highway El Palmar-Sewer (MU-30) and the passage of La Paloma (MU-31), opposite the West Industrial Park, the Center for Integrated Transport (Citmusa) and West CAEDI ( complex economic activities and industrial dotacionales).
The catchment area includes the inhabitants of El Palmar, the Green and Sangonera Seca, San Ginés, La Alberca, Santo Angelo, Nonduermas, the districts of El Carmen and Barriomar and Sewer municipalities, Librilla, Totana and Field Cartagena, a population of around 250,000.
This new shopping center will reduce traffic in the north, as it will reduce trips to malls and Thader New Condomina.
In addition, the promoters of this plan will provide the City partial land required for the creation of a large sports area which will complement the facilities are south of town.

This major project includes a performance of about 1,400,000 square meters, with a building of 560,000 square meters.
Private investment, including infrastructure works and facilities (streets, roads ...), will be 500 million euros.
The main project of this large complex is the commercial center that promotes Anjoca Group on a plot of 108,000 square meters and a building area of 45,000 square meters.
The project includes a retail space with 125 shops dedicated to food, fashion, services, home, electronics, restaurants ... Among others, firms will Carrefour and Inditex.
The mall will have over 2,500 parking spaces and will create over 400 direct jobs.
Moreover, the chain Elba (Anjoca group property) will build a modern 4 star hotel with 100 rooms.
The works will start immediately and the shopping center could be completed within 18 to 20 months in early 2010.
Infrastructure works will begin next week.
The group Adeo (Leroy Merlin, Bricomart, Aki DIY ...) will build a median on a plot area of 100,000 square meters.
In the same environment will keep a parcel of 150,000 square meters for commercial use also.

This new shopping area will benefit the town because of the importance of the service sector, the importance of developing the south of Murcia, is found near first class road infrastructure (highway El Palmar, Sewer, Highway Andalusia, Murcia-Cartagena highway, highway highway to Madrid and the Mediterranean), is near the largest concentration of SMEs in the region (Industrial Park West), next to Citmusa and Caedi, and is situated close to other means of transport such as train station, airport bus and the future.
