The councilman of Promotion, Roque Ortiz, held this morning a meeting with the famous Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza, who has visited the city accompanied by the painter and sculptor Mülenen FCG and other members of the Gabarrón Foundation.
The mayor has acted as host showing the City Annex Building, Belluga Square and views of the cathedral from across the Moneo watching the panorama of the entire square.
Alvaro Siza (Matosinhos, 1933) he has been impressed by the beauty of this architectural complex, designed important buildings like the Auditorium of the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao;
Museum Insel Hombroich in Düsseldorf;
University of Lleida;
the Faculty of Journalism of Santiago de Compostela and Portugal pavilion at Expo 1998
Siza has received during his career the prestigious awards such as the Pritzker Prize, Royal Gold Medal, Alvar Aalto Medal, Wolf Foundation Prize of Artesganó and, in 2010, the International Prize of Plastic Arts of the FCG Foundation.
FCG has exhibited in numerous options in New York, Basel, Miami, Lisbon and Strasbourg, among other places and among his works are the sculptures of Don Quixote, the 'Circular' Veritas XX series and sculpture
