The Municipal People's Party councilor, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, presented at a press conference on Thursday motion raised at the municipal plenary proposing the development of a Universal Accessibility Municipal Plan for the municipality of Murcia, which guarantees access to public services and municipal public facilities, as well as on issues related to mobility and communication.
The development of this Plan will be extended between 2016 and 2019, "taking into account the time that national and European legislation imposes on some performances, as well as future Universal Accessibility Law of the Region of Murcia, designed by the Government of the Autonomous Community of Murcia with CERMI consensus ".
Ruiz Caballero explained that "a plan of this nature is more important in a town like Murcia, with a sociodemographic settings and service delivery that is necessary to put a special emphasis on accessibility."
In this regard, he highlighted the work already being done in the city of Murcia in this area, from different areas of Social Welfare, Culture, Urban Quality Tourism, Huerta, Town Planning, Housing, among others, "but they must be encompassed in a shared project that includes a needs assessment and priorities, an action plan to promote social participation, social innovation or independent living. "
Along these lines have resumed the work of the Bureau of Disability, from which, in coordination with 35 associations and organizations of people with disabilities and their families, a calendar of activities will be designed, and will monitor the Municipal Plan Accessibility, Ruiz as proposed in the motion for debate and approval.
