The students from fourth grade in the region consume weekday television 97 minutes a day, which in the weekends, rises to 127 minutes, according to the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty Education of the University of Murcia by Lois Maria Lopez Mondejar.
Says the study, which has obtained excellent cum laude, that despite the existence of numerous and most modern media, "these students are very interested in watching TV."
Also notes that this medium is present in almost every home and, after the activity of playing with friends, which is preferred, students choose to watch TV, "because they consider it fun and makes you laugh."
The dissertation has revealed that these children also are keen to see programs broadcast outside the time band protection and, therefore, are aimed at adults.
The investigation has not detected differences between foreign students and indigenous, to have very similar preferences.
For the realization of the thesis, which was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Javier Ballesta, the author analyzed a sample of 320 schoolchildren aged 9 and 10 years old and belonging to public, subsidized and private schools.
