The Minister of Health, Encarna Guillen, visited this morning the Center for Health Infante, in Murcia, in the beginning of the new campaign of vaccination against pertussis in pregnant women.
The Community has purchased more than 10,500 doses for a total of 100,0000 euros, with them is to reach 80 percent of pregnant women.
The vaccine is administered in a single dose, and for free, through the network of health centers SMS.
In 2014 the regional incidence of pertussis was 110 cases per 100,000 children a year, a figure that by the end of 2015 increased to 330 cases per 100,000 children a year.
