The doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia by Maria del Carmen Cerezo Máiquez stressed the need for specialized support and, in particular, with the figure of sociocultural mediators, for better integration of foreign students the classrooms.
The findings of this research, which has been rated as outstanding cum laude, indicates that these mediators may act as interpreters when foreign families come with their children to Spain and not know the language.
Also highlights the need for educational administration dowry more human and materials to primary schools in the Region of Murcia to be responsible for their children's education and school resources.
Also notes the thesis that most of these students from abroad are taught in public schools, if any of these in which students leave their regular others agreed to the presence of foreign students were identified.
To do this research, the author analyzed a network of more than 460 teachers from thirty both public and concerted centers of the region shows.
The dissertation was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Josefa Martínez Lozano.
