The Municipal House has approved at its meeting this morning the draft municipal budget for 2016, as the Municipal People's Party has given its approval to the amendment tabled by the Socialist Municipal Group.
Thus, we have agreed the allocations for social policies, employment and districts.
According to the Councillor for Finance and Employment, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, "budgets are designed to grow and build a future of opportunities that will allow us to advance and be prepared to seize the opportunities of the new cycle that we are starting after years of economic difficulties we have endured. "

Martínez-Oliva noted that budgets contain "significant investments demanded by citizens and games to start suturing some of the scars that this city and Murcia have repeatedly sued us."
The budget for next year 2016 amounted to 404,438,040 euros, representing an increase of 1.13% over the current.
This growth reached 8.18% in the case of investments, which stood at almost 31 million euros, to which must be added 20 million euros, due to the possibility of using the remaining cash.
Major projects included in these budgets are:
- Recovery of the site of San Esteban and its environment.
- Rehabilitation of the Old Jail
- Rehabilitation of Halls 1 and 2 Artillery Barracks
- Access to Murcia and underground high speed.
- Coastal North and South.
- Promotion of infrastructure investments in neighborhoods and districts.
