For the first time, and as announced by the Councillor for Employment, Tourism, Culture, Jesus Pacheco, the Romea Theatre and Circus jointly presented its program for the February-June period of 2016. Its main novelty is integrated in a unique way to manage the schedules of the two municipal theaters of Murcia.

According to Pacheco, "thus it aims to achieve a balance between the styles of the premises, along with effective coordination between them, without ever forgetting the principles of quality, rigor and timeliness required of a public theater."

Interpreters as Jose Sacristan, Concha Velasco, Dani Albadalejo, Alberto San Juan, Miguel Rellán, Ernesto and Malena Alterio;

authors as Ionesco, Ibsen, Moliere, Juan Mayorga, Peter Schaffer, Daniel Veronese;

directors like Juan Carlos Rubio, Miguel del Arco, Lucia Rodriguez, Magüi Mira, Eduardo Vasco ..., will be in both scenarios, as they will, in the field of concerts, Joe Lovano, Bebe, Dorantes, De la Purissima Betty Lavette, Coque Malla, among others, with the obligatory quotes Flamenco Summit and the Cycle Jazz & Black.

A new feature new cycles being developed in both theaters interchangeably, as the so-called 'Scene Here', dedicated to works by Murcia companies, or 'Cycle Alone', with one-person jobs like Novecento, with Miguel Rellán presented ;

or Self-Portrait of a young capitalist, with Alberto San Juan.

Also significant is the new 'cycle near "where the viewer can hear intimate concerts from the same stage of the Romea Theatre and the orchestra background.

Keep in mind the attention at children, with the replacement of The Wizard of Oz, this time on the stage of the Romea, by the now traditional cycle 'family to the theater' which continues Sunday morning in the Circus.

Moreover, it is noteworthy that the new co-productions with companies from Murcia are shared between both scenarios;

as in the case of child Tulugak, by Carnation Circus Theatre on February 11, and the premiere of Macbeth, Shakespeare Theatre production Alquibla, April 29 at the Teatro Romea.

Similarly, the two theaters will celebrate jointly the fourth centenary of the death of William Shakespeare, a program in which, besides the Macbeth cited by Antonio Saura, The Merchant of Venice, directed by Eduardo Vasco will and Hamlet, with staging by Miguel del Arco, along with an academic ceremony in the Hall of Mirrors at Teatro Romea, 28 April, chaired by Professor of the University of Murcia Angel-Luis Alvarez-Castellanos Pujante .

In short, until June Murcia will host over one hundred productions spread between Romea and Circus, with 42 theater productions (21 in Romea, 21 Circus), 26 concerts (13 in Romea, 13 Circus), three operettas, opera, six performances of dance, children's and school 21 (8 Romea, 13 Circus), plus 10 functions of humor, magic and circus hall in the TCM.

In short, a remarkable effort to provide the public Murcia shows the highest level while maintaining its policy of affordable prices and discounts.

MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS OF NEW PROGRAMMING:

1. The concept of "Theatre de Murcia" and joint picture of it.

The advance of the playbill shows clearly the main goal of this new stage: to involve the public Murcia that have the ability to choose what prefer to watch theatrical show, or I Romea Circus.

2. Identical criteria for two artistic styles determined by history and scenic features of both theaters.

This is often guided by the headlines, but sometimes the titles do not indicate whether the company is professional or amateur.

6. Some activities deserve to be in both theaters: for example, the new series "scene here", dedicated to Murcia groups.

Also, the system of co-productions with local companies greater artistic projection.

If it was so far "co-production with TCM", from 2016, it will be "co-production with Theatre de Murcia".

7. Dedication similar to children's theater.

Circus will continue the series "Al theater family" (Sundays at 12 noon), and the Romea is "Stories in English".

8. Circus parallel activities (exhibitions, conferences, staged readings ...) also pass the Romea, as far as may be appropriate and necessary.

For the next semester, this theater will host much of the "fourth centenary Shakespeare" with a lecture by actor and Irish director Denis Rafter.

And for next season, the same venue will host the events around Antonio Buero Vallejo on the centenary of his birth.
