The Silk Garden will have a better and more efficient lighting (18/12/2015)

The Board of Governors approved the contract specifications for the renovation of public lighting Garden Silk

The works will include replacing the existing lighting system, consisting of 61 steel columns 3 meters high and luminaire type globe, highly polluting eight projectors in the auditorium and eleven in the pergola with high energy consumption.

The Department of Public Works installed fiberglass columns, corrosion resistant, with LED luminaire type, equipped with system energy efficiency, which reduces power consumption by up to 50% in times of low occupancy.

Auditorium lighting for 12 low-power LED projectors while in the structure of the pergola is integrated LED 12 bars will be installed.

The installed capacity will be 6,140 W., representing a reduction from the current more than 63%.

The cost savings will be 8,000 euros and a reduction in CO2 emissions to the atmosphere will be 22 tons.

This action, which is part of integrated actions in the Lumínico Map, fits premises optimization of public lighting installations and anti-light pollution of the Department of Public Works and fulfills the commitments made by the City to stop climate change.

In these works, which have a deadline of four months, 97,200 euros will be invested.
