The Board of Governors approved the drafting of rehabilitation projects Batan Mill and Mill Zarandona Love Albatalía, action framed in the Plan of Action of recovery of Huerta de Murcia and its historical heritage.
La Huerta is an agricultural, green territory, watered by canals and originate mainly from the eleventh century, has created important and unique built pieces that make the Huerta the true historic center of Murcia.
For this reason, it also included in the Plan of Action of the Huerta, it is to conduct a comprehensive inventory of all ethnographic historical, heritage, landscape, hydraulics, environmental and Huerta for cataloging, documentation and protection.
El Molino del Amor, municipally owned, at the end of Paseo del Malecón, roadside Nora, on the border between the Arboleja and the Albatalía on the ditch Mayor of Aljufía, and is a listed building , dating from the eighteenth century although, as in other cases where the Orchard, probably built on an earlier medieval mill.
It is a one-story building, about 160 sqm, quite shabby, but still retains its main structure and can be retrieved for contemplation and explanation.
The project includes the complete renovation of the building and upgrading of open channels of irrigation channels, integrating them into a landscaped and equipment of approximately 3700 m² open space, which is also the subject of the project and will include orchards and facilities related to the Mill enjoyment by residents and citizens who travel prolong the walk to this destination.
The recovery of this mill has a great symbolic value for its potential to integrate into an urban space of the first order, as is the Paseo del Malecón, declared of cultural interest and over which the council is drafting a Special Protection Plan.
The other major performance project which has started is the adequacy of the Molino Batan environment in Camino Viejo de Monteagudo.
El Molino Batan is located on the North Mayor Azarbe in Zarandona, next to Barrio de la Flota, a Partial Plan in development that has integrated into the urban fabric.
The plot where it is located is a green area of ​​4200 square meters of landscaping municipal property which will be executed under the owners of the area, but designed this comprehensive recovery project.
The intervention will keep the character of orchard area, avoiding the performance of a conventional garden and preserving existing or implanting own a garden that becomes a testimony of their origin for contemplation and public use species plantations.
In both cases recovery and landscaping will be planted keeping own environments and adapting them compatible Huerta for public use, creating spaces that preserve the environmental values ​​and ejemplaricen a new way to treat considerate and respectful parkland with its origin, sustainable and pedagogical.
