A doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia José Eugenio Caballero Marrades has revealed the beneficial effects of music therapy on the functional improvement of senior members of people with cerebral palsy.
The study, which has been rated as outstanding cum laude, notes that the implementation optimized by a team of two therapists of active techniques that are covered by the same "get significant improvements in the functional capacity of the upper limbs severely affected young by this paralysis. "
The methodology proposed by the research is oriented, it is added in the PhD, towards improving the different motor, cognitive, communicative, psychological and socio-emotional conditions, all of which has contributed to the achievement of the objectives.
For the investigation, a sample of a group of 24 boys and girls aged four to 16 years were analyzed.
The dissertation was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Fernando Santonja.
