The total budget for Sports is 19,207,107 euros and 4,427,717 euros for Health.

The Department of Sports and Health of the City of Murcia in order to enhance and promote sports-physical activity in a healthy environment, presented their budgets for the development of next year 2016.

Specifically, the total budget of the sports amounts to 19,207,107 euros in subsidies and grants to sports organizations are doubled compared to the previous year, increasing by half a million euros;

the practice of sport in schools is also doubled, with a total of 180,000 euros and the budget for sports activities grew 70 percent, namely, an amount of 80,000 euros is intended.

This budget reflects the objectives of the Department of Sports and Health are: to promote school sports and health through the practice of it;

Murcia make a reference in sporting events generating health habits through the sporting activities;

and help organizations and associations.

Thus, access of citizens to practice sport and physical activity, both from the perspective of a fundamental right, and from the improvement in their quality of life and productive use of their leisure time is guaranteed.

It is also positioned as a guarantee of an offer capable of satisfying the different motivations that push citizens to practice, through a promotion of physical activity and sport from the following points of view:

· Health Promotion: As a supplier element of physical and psychological well-being, and generating healthy lifestyles.

· Education: As a formative element in all stages of life of the people, but with special emphasis on children, contributing to the formation of the individual.

Sport contributes to the development of personality, encourages certain behaviors and interests that will become awake later on scales of values, decisive in adulthood.

· Recreation: As an element of fun, as it provides a particular advantage and differentiated entertainment alternatives.

· Therapeutic: As rehabilitative element multiple physical and psychological disorders.

Among the sports that will develop in the coming year 2016, is the championship of Spain of self-selection Volleyball Championship Karate Spain Child, popular and traditional races and athletic meeting in Monte Romero prior to the Olympics.

Moreover, it will allocate 1,000,000 euros to the development of sports activities such as free buzzing;

380,000 euros in repair of sports facilities;

and 500,000 euros in replacement of machinery.

The Health Service budget amounts to 4,427,717 euros, to be allocated to different activities such as insect and rodent control campaigns of the municipality against insect pests and rodents, programs to promote healthy lifestyles in schools and Adults, quality control of food and water in the municipal laboratory animal maintenance and infrastructure of health centers and Cemetery.

The main activities of the programs of healthy lifestyles are aimed at children and young people through interventions in schools and adult and elderly population of the city.

In addition, health campaigns publications, which are aimed at promoting healthy habits in different groups, such as pregnant women and breastfeeding project 'Healthy for you, healthy for the two' are made;

encourage the practice of moderate physical activity on a regular basis, in the population of the municipality of Murcia, '4/40 program';

and drug prevention in schools, with a range of 20,000 children through grants to non-profit associations and marquees alcohol prevention among young people.

Finally, with regard to infrastructure, rehabilitation of the Cemetery of Our Lord Jesus, the City Council has set the amount of 150,000 euros for 2016 and 65,000 euros for the maintenance of medical offices.
