About 250 people, members of the municipal network of Social Centres for the Elderly of Murcia, will participate in workshops to acquire skills and knowledge on the use of the Smartphone or "smart phones", through a project launched by the Vodafone Spain Foundation and the Association Ingenio Labs in collaboration with the Department of Social Rights of the City of Murcia.
Precisely responsible for this Department, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, explained that "older people should not be excluded from the new communication environment generated with the emergence of mobile devices and learn to use them help you live a more personal autonomy and independence".
"These courses will learn to cope with mobile phone and Internet access."
Currently, they are providing, in a first phase, workshops Social Centres Bacons Bridge, El Ranero, San Anton and Barriomar.
In a second phase, in February and March 2016, more workshops will be held in other centers.
Ruiz Caballero stated that "the duration of the workshops is 6 hours in two sessions and are taught by qualified staff through practical sessions, allowing interaction with smartphones."
