Forum, social space of discussion at the University of Murcia, organized the conference Pact Mar Menor along the platform with the same name, next Monday, November 30 and Thursday, December 3, 2015.
Platform Pact Mar Menor tries to gather information from researchers who for years have dealt with the study of the Mar Menor, to know the origin of the problems and seek solutions with a commitment to political representatives when put measures so immediate conservation of the lagoon, and avoid an ecological, cultural and economic disaster.
The conference will involve scientists and scholars of the lagoon as well as environmental, business, labor and social associations who will discuss various issues pertaining to the Mar Menor, from its history and evolution until the economy and social fabric of the lagoon itself.
Political parties may also reveal what projects have to reverse the terrible situation in which the lake is located and its willingness to sign a big Pact Mar Menor
Activities will begin on Monday, November 30, in the auditorium of the Campus de la Merced, at 17:00, with the presentation of the Platform Pact Mar Menor by Mestre and Maria Luisa Isabel Rubio.
Later there will be different talks focused on the Mar Menor and its relationship with subjects like history and evolution, law, economics and agriculture, concluding with a discussion, at 18:45, coordinated by Maria Luisa Mestre.
The last activity of the day will be a debate focused on civil society and its relationship with the Mar Menor.
The conference will end on Thursday, December 3, 2015, with lectures on science, research for sustainable management of ecosystems, and environmental implications in the Mar Menor from an economic dynamic.
It will conclude at 18:35 pm with the round table: "Visions of the future of the child Mar", in which the representatives of the political parties will be present.
It will be coordinated by Professor of the University of Murcia Ángel Pérez Ruzafa.
