The Board of Governors approved at its meeting this morning the creation of which will be the first Municipal Office Spain Graffiti.
The aim with this initiative is to provide a municipal service agile, direct and specifically created to coordinate all activities of cleaning, promotion, public awareness, handling complaints, suggestions and requests for graffiti.
Also contribute to streamlining, efficiency and updating of procedures for reparations and sanctions with regard to illegal or constitute infringement activities.
Although the Office depend organically from the Department of Public Works, your actions will cross various municipal services such as education, youth, urban quality, Parks and Gardens, Culture, Sanctions and local police.
Thus, a specialized brigade of street cleaning service is dedicated, full-time, cleanliness and suitability of areas affected by vandalism or graffiti inadequate.
Also a team made exclusively coordinating functions of the Office will be located in the offices of the Municipal Cleaning Service Road Plaza of the Apostles.
The primary function of the Office will be to encourage, promote and better manage this form of graphic expression, interacting with concerned individuals or social groups, while serving as a citizen space promoter of creative ideas, alternatives, resources and new channels expression
The Office will also have a strong presence in social networks and their own web space that will serve as a communication channel where citizens, schools, residents, merchants and institutions may submit their suggestions, organizing performances request and receive information from all activities to be implemented.
In addition, performing cleaning programs crash and recovery of areas will be encouraged and promoted, in a continuous manner, panels or open wall to be used by graffiti artists, who can go to the office to request the appropriate spaces and a card and registration of graffiti groups.
Another objective of this initiative is the promotion of regular competitions, courses, workshops and programs related to this art activities, encouraging the participation of the authors.
Moreover, the Office will attend and process all kinds of complaints about graffiti vandalism in close coordination with the Municipal Service and the local police sanctions.
To raise awareness of these behaviors, the web publish any costs of cleaning performance and draw a map of aggression for determining areas of vandalism, differentiating between the town and the districts.
With this initiative the City Council launches social measures and public awareness, as well as encourage the unauthorized graffiti and arbitrate preventive and deterrent measures, including proper enforcement of sanctions and intensified policing.
