To assess the operation of the service and identify possible new avenues for improvement have they been two key issues addressed by the Mayor, José Ballesta, and the CEO of Ferrovial Servicios Santiago Olivares, Counsellor at the meeting who have held this morning, which have also attended by the Councillor for Public Works, Roque Ortiz, Director of Treatment and Industrial Ferrovial Servicios, Rosa Forcada, and the Regional Director of this department, Jorge Tejedo.
The contract maintains the City Council with Cespa, the Ferrovial Group, awarded in 2011, making him the most important both for its amount and its duration, scheduled for a period of 20 years.
The agreement allows Murcia has become a model city in the efficient and sustainable management of municipal waste.
On the one hand, the city has one of the best treatment centers, as last enlargement has allowed to integrate more than 15 types of treatment for waste generated by the Murcia, which last year exceeded 500,000 tons.
The four new facilities were put into operation Plant Selection and Containers Rest, Treatment Plant Industrial and bulky waste, the production plant and Solid Recovered Fuel Plant Sludge Drying.
Treatment Plant Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Plant Biometanización: Later, in collaboration with the private sector, two were built.
These facilities are the basis of the reference cluster Environment and Renewable Energy, in collaboration with the contractor, was born with a vocation to convert the Waste Treatment Center in an area of ​​innovation and opportunity.
