The Governing Board today approved an allocation of 229,000 euros to the overall improvement of various gardens of the city of Murcia and its districts.

The actions will aim to recover these public spaces, and improve both its image and its facilities, preparing new areas for family recreation and sports.

In particular, the safety of the public space and its image with work ranging from the design of the damaged pavement, until the construction of pedestrian areas, installation of new sports and entertainment elements will be improved, and the creation of new areas Green and installation of latest generation of underground irrigation.

The action will be implemented over the next six months and will renew the image of a total of eight gardens in the districts of Patiño (Society Palomistas), El Palmar (Garden of the Dove), Stables (Garden of the College) and Espinardo (Tiricosa) ;

and green areas of the city of Murcia, including the gardens of Santa María de Gracia include, Avenida Rio Segura, the Palm and the three glasses.

Green Jobs Strategy

This project will also allow the hiring of a total of 12 residents of Murcia unemployed, within the Green Employment Strategy being developed by the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, with the aim of reviving the generating jobs, taking advantage of the improvement of public spaces in the municipality.

Specifically, the jobs will be for twelve young people under 30 years living in the municipality of Murcia, who are currently enrolled in the National System of Youth Guarantee.

The Employment and Training Service (SEF) will subsidize the initiative with 191,000 euros to the project.

The City Council shall bear all the cats on the hardware needed to perform the work and materials, with more than 38,000 euros investment.
