The participation process Murcia City Strategy 2020 now enters a new phase.
Once the social consultation, the turn of the political groups of the City raise their proposals and contributions to the document arrives.
To do this, the next week will begin customized with technicians who are developing the strategy meetings.
The meeting held last month by the Social Council considered the initial diagnosis of the municipality, prepared by the University of Murcia, which identified the main socio-economic characteristics of the municipality.
On that document, it was launched a process of participation for the City Strategy and define future projects to be developed to realize the construction of the new Murcia.
This participation process has been channeled through three channels:
- Consultation of the Social Council of the City and drawing conclusions through 6 workshops:
or Employment and Economic Development
or citizen service and modernization of the administration
or social welfare, quality of life and sustainability
or SmartCity
or infrastructure and spatial planning
or Tourism, Culture and Trade
- Through more than 1,000 household surveys that have been conducted throughout the municipality, the city and its districts.
- Read all the neighbors through the website of the City
The public participation process will culminate in the design and approval of the Strategy of City Murcia 2020 by the Social Council as a basis for growth and development of the municipality for the following years.
The participatory process extends to two key projects: the recovery site of St. Stephen and the environment and rehabilitation and use of the old jail.
There are two actions that the City wants to accomplish with maximum social participation, reason which will be submitted for debate and discussion in the Social Council this morning has tried both plans first.
